Ash Wednesday Service 18th Feb 2026 18:30

Lent begins on Ash Wednesday, 18th Feb 2026. If you would like to come to the Ash Wednesday Evening Service it starts at 18:30. All Welcome.

You are very welcome to join us, for this service and for any other service too. It doesn’t matter if you are a lifelong Christian, or just starting out on your faith journey. We are an inclusive church, and would love to welcome you. St Mary’s Church, Vale Rd, Ash Vale, GU12 5JE. Sunday Services are at 10:30am every week.

Ash Wednesday 5th March

The Ash Wednesday Service at St Mary’s is this Wednesday 5th March 2025 at 18:30. All welcome.

Revd Neil has shared a prayer for Ash Wednesday:

O Lord, who hast mercy upon all,
take away from me my sins,
and mercifully kindle in me
the fire of the Holy Spirit.
Take away from me the heart of
stone, and give me heart of flesh
a heart to love and adore Thee,
a heart to delight in Thee,
to follow and enjoy Thee,
for Christ’s sake, Amen

Ash Wednesday Service 6.30pm

You are warmly invited to come to our Ash Wednesday service on Wednesday 14th February 2024 at 6.30pm. Join us at St Mary’s on Vale Road, GU12 5JE. All are welcome.

The first day of Lent is called Ash Wedensday. This is the time in the year for a special service with the imposition of ashes. If you want to know more about it, why not pop in to St Mary’s and ask? Our cafe is open on Fridays 10:00-13:00 and our Sunday services start at 10:30am. See you soon!
